Digitalis purpurea, commonly known as the common foxglove, blooms gracefully in the serene surroundings of Wilderness Orchard, Jabbarkhet Estate. Tall spires rise elegantly above the greenery, carrying clusters of tubular, bell-shaped flowers in shades of purple and pink, each delicately marked with spotted throats. Native to Europe but naturalised in many Himalayan regions, Digitalis purpurea thrives in cool, temperate climates and woodland clearings. Its striking vertical form adds dramatic beauty to the wilderness orchard garden landscape. While admired for its ornamental charm, this species is also known for its medicinal properties, as it contains cardiac glycosides used historically in heart treatments.
