They seem to be suffering from Split hand/split foot malformation (SHFM) - a genetic disorder that is characterized by the complete or partial absence of some fingers or toes, often combined with clefts in the hands or feet. This is not a story with a happy ending. It hurts to see an entire family - especially children - with such severe physical deformities and disabilities in their hands and toes. The woman tells us that she is trying to get disability benefits from the government, in order to pay for the treatment and perhaps allow her family to lead a more normal life. She says she is having a most difficult time surviving with very little money. It's hard for her to educate her children and she is looking for help from the government.
