In Dastakaar Nature Bazaar, New Delhi, several handmade Zenzula kalimbas—traditional African thumb pianos—are displayed. These instruments belong to the lamellaphone family, a type of plucked idiophone. Each Zenzula is crafted using a polished coconut shell base fitted with metal tines that produce soothing melodic tones. The kalimbas are tuned in an F Major Pentatonic scale, though they can be retuned or custom tuned as needed. Known for their calming sound, Zenzulas are widely used for relaxation, meditation, and storytelling, making them a popular artisanal item at the bazaar.
