Drums and cymbals sound and aloft in the air, the Kapil Muni Ashram rally to Kapil Muni Temple at Gangasagar Mela is in full swing during this West Bengal festival. Teh drumming heats up to a frenzy before letting down the tempo, and then picks up again, leading to the state of religious fervour and intensity! Lots of saffron in this sea of orange... Ganga meets the sea, and its 'Sky to Ocean' journey is done: To the sound of hand cymbals and little diya lights lit up, pilgrims father in the dark early morning light at the edge of the Bay of Bengal, for a holy dip in the Ganges river, in honour of its meeting the sea and ending its riverine journey.
