Geranium wallichianum flower in a Himalayan meadow in the Himalaya... Kashmir Purple (Geranium clarkei) Geranium clarkei, called Clark's geranium, is a herbaceous species of plant in the Geraniaceae family. It is native to India and is cultivated for use in gardens in other parts of the world. As the name suggests this attractive hardy geranium is originally from Kashmir. It produces upward-facing, deep violet-purple flowers, veined with lilac-pink, in summer. While it is a little too rampant for confined spaces, it makes a useful ground cover plant and looks particularly good next to yellow or pink roses.
