Straight out of Africa? Nope - India's own Maharashtra! The men dance with bows and arrows and animal-inspired face masks. The wildlife of the region dictates the dance of these tribal people and the tiger is a major motif in their art, culture, lives and animist dances. Are those women or men dressed as women in the front of the bonfire dance performance? This footage is brought to you thanks to our viewer Amogh Sahaje. He tells us this dance is from the Pawara Tribe of Nandurbar district of Maharashtra, and this footage was filmed in the month of March 2017. The festival takes place aorund Holi (they call it Uli). Their celebration is very different from the way most of India celebrates Holi. They celebrate it for about 10 days, but with no use of colours or water, and instead they perfo
