Gujarati school kids are treated to a heritage walk inside the fabulous Adalaj step well near Ahmedabad. Heritage awareness and education is an important part of our education in India, and appreciation for our glorious past needs to be inculcated early so we don't grow up and start spitting paan around our monuments! Adalaj Stepwell or Rudabai Stepwell is a stepwell located in the village of Adalaj, close to Ahmedabad city and in Gandhinagar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It was built in 1498 in the memory of Rana Veer Singh (the Vaghela dynasty of Dandai Des), by his wife Queen Rudadevi. It is a fine example of Indian architecture work.
