This idol of Lord Ganesha is located in a prominent position in the former Sanam Chandra Palace in the province of Nakhon Pathom. The palace was a creation of the Thai King Rama VI (1910-25). It is now a public park and tourist spot, with a number of interesting sights. Ganesha Idol was specifically created by the Thai King Rama VI. It resides in a traditional spirit house, and in a direct line from the palace prayer room to the Phra Pathom Chedi (the largest Chedi in Thailand) as can be seen from the spirit house. The king evidently sought guidance from Ganesh. The statue is still revered by visitors to the palace grounds.
