At many places, cell phone towers are mounted on the roof top of residential /commercial buildings. Installation of these towers are increasing day by day. Even though antenna radiates less power vertically down but the distance between the antenna and top floor is usually a few meters, so the radiation level in the top two floors remain very high. In 2014 in Delhi, there were around 5,656 mobile towers, of which 2,656 were illegal. East Delhi had 1,470 cellphone towers, of which 588 were illegal. The South Delhi corporation had 2,834 mobile towers, of which 1,543 were illegal. In some cases, the towers have been constructed on unauthorised buildings.
