A posse of Delhi Police traffic cops when traffic still ran on the roads of Delhi, pre Corona! Standing next to a fuel pump near IIT Delhi at the Ring Road crossing, the policemen hand over challans or traffic fines and tickets to helmet-less two wheeler drivers, and those not following traffic rules. passersby look on, out of curiosity. The cops also record some of the proceedings on their mobile phones, as proof, in case the same is needed in court when the violators come to court to collect their impounded driving licenses, and to pay the fines. The cops also check the registration documents and papers of the scooterists. In the last incidence, the cops have actually impounded the scooter / motorcycle of the traffic violator.
