Cycle marathon on the occasion of Victory Day in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Here the cyclists are crossing the Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue amidst the traffic which is less in number than the usual due to the national holiday for Victory Day celebrations. There is metro construction in progress on this road which the Bangladeshi government has undertaken in collaboration with China. The cyclists are dressed up in red and green the colours of the national flag of Bangladesh. The holiday is always celebrated on 16th December. Known as 'Bijôy Dibôs' in Bengali, this holiday commemorates the victory of the Allied forces High Command over the Pakistani forces in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
