Golden statue of Param Vir Chakra awardee Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon being displayed at the Indian Air Force Museum in Delhi. Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC was an officer of the Indian Air Force. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration, in recognition of his lone defence of Srinagar Air Base against a PAF air raid during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. He is the only member of the Indian Air Force to be so honoured. Air Force Museum, the only one of its kind in India, houses a rich collection of memorablia of Indian Military Aviation and displays the history of Indian Air Force. The Museum reflects the very best of what the Indian Air Force has stood for in War and Peace. Its compilation is, in itself, a lasting tribut
