People from Adi tribe collect bat after killing them. They collect them and put it in their bamboo basket. The Adi tribe organizes the 200-year-old “Bat Killing” festival in Arunachal. Like the previous years, hundreds of men, women and children of the community swarm into a natural cave, with bamboo poles and kill over a thousand bats as part of the festival. It is believed that the practice of killing bats once in a year helps keep the natural demographic balance of bats in the hill site. Adis feel that the festival is an occasion to bond with their fellow tribesmen. The festival has always been a source of merriment and a family reunion for them.
