Mehrangarh Fort standing on a rugged rocky hill above Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The massive sandstone fortifications follow the contours of the elevated cliff and overlook the surrounding city. Dense clusters of traditional houses spread around the fort, with many buildings painted in shades of blue that give Jodhpur its popular name, the Blue City. The rocky and arid terrain surrounding the fort extends toward the Thar Desert region, with paths and structures visible around the outer parts of the fort complex. A clear sky provides a wide view of the fort and the city below.
