Ghulam Ali speaks about his career on a television show. He says, "I have been singing Ghazals from past 40 years. There is no change in Ghazals in those past years. I only notice the change I those people who don't understand Ghazals. They want to listen to and sing easy music and they have their separate audience. Visaal was released on 28th November 2001 with Gulzar. It has eight Ghazals from which 4-5 was composed and sung by me and other Ghazals was composed by my student Rafiq Hussain. Visaal has serious Ghazals but only Ghazals. There are no filmy songs".
