Every year the day 9th January commemorates as the day when Mahatma Gandhi came to India for the first time from South Africa. Hence the day is celebrated as the day for the Indian diaspora and the global Indians. PM of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee inaugurates the Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas in 2003 by welcoming the chief guest, PM of Mauritius, Sir Anirudh Jagannath. He also honors the Indian diaspora by welcoming them to this celebrat
