Arunachal Pradesh has only recently started opening up for tourism. In the 1990's, venturing into the wilds in Arunachal was a rare occurrence, and few travellers had the opportunity. See this footage from the olden days when infrastructure was low and getting into the wild meant few connections for public transport, virtually no places to stay, and little adventure tourism infrastructure as well. Students are introduced to simple rock climbing and are sent up a small rock wall in the wilderness, with a basic rope and simple harnessing arrangement. The season is obviously post rainy season, as the hills and grasses are brown and dry. Would this be somewhere above Bomdila? What region do you think this is filmed in?
