A red-tailed Bamboo Pit Viper (Trimeresurus erythrurus) suspends itself on a metallic fence at the Sundarbans in West Bengal. The snake seems to have taken a wholesome meal and doesn't react to the camera. The Red-tailed Bamboo Viper is one of the venomous pit vipers endemic to India. It is an arboreal tree dwelling snake which is known for its venom and aggression.
