The festive season in the national capital is bringing out shoppers from homes. With no proper metro rail services, the residents are dependent on private vehicles, autorickshaws, cabs, public transport buses which is contributing to the already congested traffic in Delhi. Hundreds of vehicles move towards their destination in the backdrop of heavily polluted air. The overcast sky is not rainclouds brewing but the pollution of the air from the stubble burning of fields in the neighbouring states and the traffic. Pollution levels are expected to rise after the Diwali festival because of bursting crackers despite the ban on crackers.
