Tyeb Mehta has spade a collection of his paintings and sculptures in the capital. Mehta's vivid articulation of mythological figures like Kali and Durga are a part of his present collection which also features Mahishasur, the demon. Tyeb Mehta speaks about his paintings. He says, "When I was in Shantiniketan for two years I painted Kali then after that I was commissioned to Durga Mahishasur Mardini by Anand Bazaar Patrika."
