Mayapuri Industrial Area Phase 2 in New Delhi is lined with small industrial and auto-part businesses, including shops dealing in bearings, tyres and vehicle components. A shopfront marked “K.T. BEARING CO.” and another sign advertising spherical, ball and roller bearings are visible among the commercial buildings. A labourer moves a handcart loaded with large jute sacks through the street, while motorcycles, scooters, cars, tempos and pickup trucks occupy the roadside. Used tyres are stacked outside another shop alongside displayed alloy wheels and rims under a makeshift roof and blue tarp. Multi-storey concrete buildings, exposed wiring, air-conditioning units and numerous commercial signs complete the crowded industrial-market setting.
