The Odisha State Maritime Museum houses the renowned Jobra Workshop Gallery, often called the Machine Gallery, showcasing a remarkable collection of industrial heritage. Inside, a mannequin dressed in a khaki uniform represents workers who once operated the machinery during the workshop’s active years. This gallery preserves 33 original machines and tools, many dating from the 18th to 20th centuries, brought from England during the British era. These were used in the historic River Boat Construction and Repair Workshop established in 1869. The exhibit offers a glimpse into colonial-era engineering, craftsmanship, and the evolution of river-based transport and repair systems in Cuttack, Odisha.
