Former female sex workers collect trash cans on the streets in India. Women who have retired as sex workers are given livelihood training and counseling to provide them with employment opportunities under the Sarang Partnership for Sexual Health Project funded by The National AIDS Control Society and Kerala State AIDS Control Society. The former sex workers are affected by infection of AIDS and other STDs. Under the Sarang PHS Project, the workers are given training to carry out counseling and preventive work among other sex workers and treatment for STDs.
