Towards the end of October, Saffron flowers are ready for harvest. The harvest season lasts for approximately a fortnight. During this time the thousands of acres of land under saffron cultivation gets painted violet. Located in the Kashmir valley, with the Himalayas in the background, the fields of Pampore make for a sight to watch.
