Police Bazar, a renowned market located in the heart of Shillong is one of the most important shopping centers of Meghalaya. There is no multiplex shopping mall or big market plaza in Meghalaya. Rather the small shopping centers are the main attractions of shopping in Meghalaya. The Police Bazar in Meghalaya provides the visitors many opportunities, some of the most exclusive collections that they will never find in any other places. Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya, one of the smallest states in India and home to the Khasis. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district. Shillong is the 330th most populous city in India with population of 143,007 according to the 2011 census.
