Makar Sankranti is being celebrated in January every year which is also called the festival of Kites in west India. In Gujarat, people celebrate this festival by flying kites. Flying kites in India is more like a favorite pass time but in Gujarat it is almost institutionalized. A kite museum established in Ahmedabad. While the City Museum talks about the various cross-cultural identities of Ahmedabad and Gandhi’s association with the city, the Kite Museum is a rare treat for kite lovers particularly for those who indulged in kite flying as kids.
