On the television program Subha Sawara, legendary vocalist Pandit Jasraj shared a heartfelt message about the future of Indian classical music. He emphasised that the upcoming young generation needs to be positively influenced and guided toward the richness of India’s musical heritage. He humbly expressed that whatever he could do in his lifetime, as destined by God, he had tried his best to accomplish. Now, he said, the responsibility lies with the present generation and especially with the media. According to him, only through the effective use of media platforms can Indian classical music be preserved and promoted. He urged media professionals and audiences alike to take active responsibility in safeguarding and spreading the legacy of India’s timeless musical tradition.
