Women from Bihar and the Bhojpuri belt called Purvanchal in north India celebrate Chhat Puja, with milk, coconut and banana offerings to the Sun god. They walk into the polluted Yamuna river near Delhi and make circular motions, while making offerings to the sun, all this while wearing large forehead tikkas or vermillion tikas on their heads.
