The disco king of the late 70s and 80s Bappi Lahiri completed 25 years in the film industry. Largely responsible for including the synthesised sound in the Hindi film music, Bappi Lahiri was felicitated at a function in Mumbai. Bappi Lahiri says "I stay busy with my music to come out with something new. I feel there is still so much left to do after completing 25 years in the industry." His father, Aparesh Lahiri was a famous Bengali singer and his mother, Bansari Lahiri was a musician and a singer who was well-versed in classical music and Shyama Sangeet. His parents trained him in every aspect of music. He began to play the tabla at the tender age of three. Even at that tender age, Bappi showed signs of greatness as he played the tabla with the proficiency of an experienced professional.
