India Peace Memorial, Maibam Lokpaching This was constructed by the Japanese Government on the site of the Battle of Red Hill (Pt. 2926) or Maibam Lokpaching, on the Tiddim Road. The Battle took place from May 20-29, 1944, and was the closest the Japanese got to Imphal from the south. The Memorial was inaugurated in 1994 on the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Imphal.
