A 62-year-old farmer reportedly died of shock after seeing his standing crop ruined by the heavy rain. However, the district administration denied the claims saying the deceased was suffering from a lung ailment and his death was due to the prolonged illness. Rhaishpal Singh, resident of Naipai village under the jurisdiction of Ramgarh police station, lived with his wife in a hut on his farm where he had grown millet. His wife claimed that after a spell of rain on Sunday his crop was totally destroyed and he could not withstand the shock and died.
