Villagers as labour working in a village under Indira Awas Yojana in India. Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, previously Indira Awas Yojana, is a social welfare programme, created by the Indian Government, to provide housing for the rural poor in India. A similar scheme for urban poor was launched in 2015 as Housing for All by 2022. Source: Wikipedia Women wear sarees and acts as contract labourers and work in the relentless and cruel summer sun in India, in dusty conditions. Meanfolks also join in. Labourers work on a job in their own Indian village and they don't go anywhere else to find work, working in an open ground setting, and digging with shovels and fawada for construction work. These are not bonded labourers surely? Is this part of a government scheme for minimum wage labourers
