Pitamber Pandey, a Hindustani classical vocalist sings a classical song on a television channel. Pitamber Pandey speaks about his career and teachings in music. He says, "I started learning music from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and there are people who supported me and I have interest in Ghazals from the beginning and followed Ghulam Ali, Mehdi Hassan and I have learned a lot from them. When I was learning classical music Pandit Birju Maharaj needed a person to sing with him then Madhup Ji referred me and I attended his class for one and a half year." Pitamber Pandey, who hails from Delhi, received his initial training in Hindustani Classical music from Sh.Rana Mahip and later under the acclaimed senior musicologist, the Late Pt.
