The barren landscape seen while driving from Paro to Thimphu is in stark contrast to the colours and greenery of the rest of Bhutan. The hillsides look devastatingly dry and brown while some amount of monoculture of pine can be seen as having been planted. Paro city is the valley in the west of the capital, Thimphu. People would fall in love with the small town of Paro with the geographical features and unique culture. Usually, people from Paro are known as Parops.
