Diwan-e-Khas is a luxurious hall housed in the Red Fort, Delhi. This most highly ornamented hall, of 90 x 67 ft, has been constructed in white marble and is supported by intricately carved pillars. The private meetings of the Mughal emperors used to be held here. The main attraction of this hall was the magnificent Peacock Throne (Mayur Sinhasan), which was studded with rubies and gems. It was taken away by Persian invader Nadir Shah in AD 1739.
