Set in the Garhwal Himalayas, the festival reflects the close relationship between agriculture, faith, and village life in this high-altitude region. At the center of the village courtyard stands the Devta (village deity), beautifully adorned with vibrant orange and red fabrics and topped with a ceremonial metallic umbrella (chhatra). During the festival, devotees gather to offer prayers and seek blessings from the local deity before participating in community celebrations and ceremonial processions.
