A delicate moment of shared pollination is captured as two different insects feed on a single white flower. The prominent species is the Common Wall Butterfly (Lasiommata schakra), easily recognised by its bright orange and brown wings marked with distinct black eyespots. Alongside it sits a Drone Fly (Eristalis tenax), a hoverfly known for its bee-like striped abdomen. Despite its resemblance to bees, this fly has only two functional wings, distinguishing it from true bees. Both insects are engaged in nectar feeding, contributing to pollination while coexisting peacefully on the same bloom. This interaction highlights the diversity of pollinators and their important ecological roles in supporting plant reproduction.
