1. CHAPDA CHINTI CHUTNEY The sight of a column of soldier ants can frighten anyone, but for the tribes of Chhattisgarh, these ants indicate a good meal. Chapda chinti ki chutney is a dish made of red ants (Curcuma angustifolia) mashed with salt, red chilies and mustard oil. It is usually eaten with stale rice. The tribal elders believe red ants have medicinal properties that can cure common ailments like coughs, colds, stomach infections and strengthen their immune system. 2.
