The beautiful Large Green Barbet and the invariably present Rose-ringed Parakeets are common visitors to Sehmal or Silk Cotton trees. The Barbet is more delicate but the Parakeets tear into and destroy the flowers. The least damaging is the Purple Sunbird which just pollinates the flowers, while collecting nectar - the textbook pollinator and the sort of visitor the tree actually likes. A Shikra raptor is merely using the tree as a perch, and does not plan to damage the flowers or pollinate them. Meanwhile, the parakeets have done much damage and half the tree's flowers lie on the ground, unpollinated, thus defeating the purpose of the tree's spread, and dis-allowing the Bombax ceiba from producing seeds for dispersal.
