A heavy traffic jam stretches across a multi-lane flyover near Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi. Cars, utility trucks, commercial vans and other vehicles are tightly packed across the elevated roadway. Motorcyclists and scooter riders, including several helmeted commuters, navigate between the stationary and slow-moving vehicles. Green-and-yellow auto-rickshaws are scattered among the traffic, adding to the mix of Delhi’s everyday road transport. High-mast streetlights line the central divider as the flyover curves upward into the distance with traffic continuing along the elevated road.
