Energetic Mbende jerusarema dance performed by Shona people of Zimbabwe during 31st Surajkund International Craft Mela 2017 in Faridabad, Haryana. Jerusarema is characterized by a single poly rhythmic drum sound accompanied by woodblock clapper sounds, hand clapping, yodeling and blowing whistles. Jerusarema does not rely on intricate foot stamping or many drummers instead the music is performed by one master drummer. Jerusarema is also known as Mbende and it is the most celebrated dance of the Shona people. The Jerusarema dance represents the Shona culture and it is polyrhythmic with circular motions and acrobatics and repetition are very prominent.
