« Buvons, aimons » from the opera If I Were King, 1852 by Adolphe Adam Singers: Akash Gadamsetty and the Neemrana Ensemble. Pianist: Philippe Engel Choir Conductor: Canato Jimo. A celebration song from an opera comique set in 1510 in India. A young fisherman is made king of Goa for one day. Because he is clever and well aware of what happens among the mass of the people, he is able to save Goa from betrayal and invasion. The video is from a performance that took place on May 29, 2022, by the Neemrana Music Foundation. Mr Yashraj Jadhav staged the scenes and the Voice Coach was Mr Jasmin Martorell. The Neemrana Music Foundation was founded by Francis Wacziarg in 2002 as a non profit organization to promote Western classical music in India, using Indian singers and musicians and training the
