OK, you're right, viewier - this is a dual carriage-way to Pakistan, from India! This road leads to the Wagah border in Punjab, along the Indo-Pakistan border. This is NH1 or National Highway 1, also known as the Grand-Trunk Road and it stretches from Wagah to Delhi, via Amritsar and Ludhiana. Wagah Attari Border antics - the tallest soldiers from both sides march stridently at both ends of the border, to impress and frighten the other side! The Wagah border closing ceremony or 'lowering of the flags' ceremony is a daily military practice that the Border Security Force of India and Pakistan Rangers have jointly followed since 1959.
