Nongmangkha (Phlogacanthus thyrsiformis) is a gregarious shrub, common in the Manipur valley. This plant has long orange-red tubular flowers, appearing in upright spikes at the end of branches. Leaves are ovoid to lance-like, with smooth margins. In Manipur, it is an extremely popular medicinal plant. Medicinal uses: It is useful for curing coughs, colds and asthma and is easy to administer.
