Mizo boys participate in indigenous game called Insuknawr during Thalfavang Kut festival in Mizoram, northeast state of India. The two players, each player holding the rod under his arm as in the game of tug of war. The end of the rod should protrude for at least two inches under the armpit and the centre of the rod must align with the centre of the circle. Each player tries to push his opponent out of the ring, through the back or the side of the circle. If a player falls to the ground or he releases Suk, he is declared to be the loser. Thalfavang Kut is observed in Mizoram every year to promote tourism and preserving the cultural heritage of the people. The Thalfavang Kut festival is celebrated in November. The festival is celebrated before harvest to celebrate the completion of farming
