Dasheri is a variety of mango grown in different parts of North India. In 18th century, the Dasheri mango first appeared in the gardens of Nawab of Lucknow. since then number of plants have been produced and planted throughout India. People from village Dasheri near Kakori, Uttar Pradesh believe that they have the mother plant of Dasheri mango which gave this variety of mango same name. Malihabad in Uttar Pradesh is the largest producer of Dasheri mango in the world.
