The Shah Amanat Bridge (3rd Karnaphuli Bridge) in Chittagong is the newest of three bridges crossing the Karnaphuli River in Bangladesh and opened for public use on 8 September 2010. This 950 metres long, 24.47-metre wide cable-supported bridge was built exclusively with Ruby Cement from Heidelberg Cement, with a design using comparatively fewer pillars that is unique in Bangladesh. The bridge has two lanes on either side for high-speed traffic, as well as a 1.5-metre wide road for low-speed traffic (e.g. rickshaw, van, bicycle), and a 1.5-metre wide walkway on both sides for pedestrians. The bridge meets a 0.5-kilometre connecting road at the city end and a 1-kilometre road to Patiya at the other end.
