This video shows cattle in Nagpur feeding milk from an adult female cow. The typical cowshed setting is very common all over India and the feeding of milk by the calves is something that has been glorified by the great Indian Mythology. The cattle population is at a whopping 25,214 or better than 1 for every 100 citizens. The state government conducts livestock census every five years throughout the State to help formulate livestock policies. Accordingly, the animal husbandry department conducted the census in the city from August to November 2012. 6,904 cows are of country-breed while remaining 6,933 are imported or cross-bred including jersey cows.
