Shrikhand is an Indian sweet dish made of strained dahi or yogurt. Shrikhand is a traditional sweet from Maharashtra. It is prepared from ‘hung curd, often called as ‘chakka’ in Marathi. It is usually flavored with saffron, Nutmeg, Cardamom, Almonds, and pistachios. It is enjoyed during festivals with hot puffed puris. Shrikhand has been referred to as "Shikhrini" in the Sanskrit literature. According to Jashbhai B. Prajapati and Baboo M. Nair, it originated in ancient India, around 400 B.C.E.
