A farmer and his wife collect cotton from their fields in Rajasthan, India. The woman collects cotton within a fold in her saree and then dumps it onto a collection sheet on the ground. The man manually collects the cotton while a goat randomly passes by! Udaipur district is one of the 33 districts of Rajasthan state in western India. It is bounded on the north by Rajsamand District, on the east by Chittaurgarh District, on the southeast by Banswara District, on the south by Dungarpur District, and on the southwest by the state of Gujarat. It is part of the Mewar region of Rajasthan. Cotton is a soft, fluffy staple fiber that grows in a boll, or protective capsule, around the seeds of cotton plants of the genus Gossypium.
